Romeo Santos and Aventura made their return to Scotiabank Arena in Toronto last night (June 7) as part of their reunion tour, Cerrando Ciclos. They picked up right where they left off, captivating fans who screamed every word of their bachata songs at the top of their lungs.
From the opening chords of “Por un Segundo” through “Dile al Amor,” “El Perdedor,” and “Brindo con Agua,” Romeo and his bandmates Henry, Lenny, and Max Santos, along with about a dozen musicians on stage, thrilled a crowd that never stopped shouting along. Romeo continuously interacted with the audience, who eagerly responded to every comment.
He even treated fans to a segment where he brought a couple of fans on stage to sing with him, creating an intimate moment despite the thousands in attendance at Scotiabank Arena.
AND THEN, when the concert wrapped up, and what seems to be a common thing now after Latin concerts at Scotiabank Arena, concert goers, hang outside and create their own after party. It was obviously the one to be at. Unreal.
Produced by CMN Events, the Cerrando Ciclos Tour kicked off on May 1 in Sacramento, California, and has visited cities including Los Angeles, Houston, and Chicago. The U.S. leg will conclude on August 3 in Hidalgo, TX, before the group heads to Spain for seven shows. Following that, they will perform six shows at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan and continue their tour in Latin America.
Romeo Santos, who began his solo career in 2012, last toured with Aventura just before the COVID pandemic for their 2020 Inmortal Tour. That tour grossed $25.8 million and sold 189,000 tickets across 15 shows from February 5 to March 10, 2020, according to Billboard Boxscore.
