Downtown Midtown Toronto lit up with colours, rhythms, and laughter as the 21st annual Salsa on St. Clair hit the streets of Hillcrest Village. Close to half a million people poured onto St. Clair Avenue West, between Winona and Christie, making this one of Canada’s largest Latin‑themed festivals.

Dance, Music & Classes

  • Multiple stages hosted live performances showcasing salsa from Cuba, cumbia from Colombia, samba from Brazil, folkloric dance, and energetic Zumba sessions .

  • Ambassador Jesus Bustamante energized the crowd, spotlighting Latin heritage and promising “blown away” experiences.

  • Interactive classes were on offer: from beginners’ salsa and bachata to samba workshops and a lively Politician Dance‑Off featuring Mayor Olivia Chow.

Taste of Latin America

Foodies rejoiced with vendors representing over 15 South American countries. Just a few highlights:

  • El Gaucho (barbecue)

  • Lenpanada (empanadas)

  • Tac Love (tacos)
  • Ontario Corn Roasters, Mis Amigos, Summertime Lemonade, and more.

Street Fest Vibes

A lively parade of dancers strutted through the avenue, dressed in vibrant costumes, followed by thousands of impromptu salsa circles right in the street .

🎉 Festival Atmosphere & Tips

According to festival‑goers (via r/askTO), the energy was contagious, especially as night fell. A few takeaways:

“It’s great – I prefer to go at lunch because it does get VERY crowded at night… put on a hat and some sunscreen”.
“Can be tough in the crowds with a stroller… but it’s a lot of fun”.

One tip of caution: pickpockets have reportedly become more active at Toronto street festivals.

🗓️ Today Is Your Final Chance!

The festival wraps at 8:30 PM tonight (Sunday, July 6). If you’re thinking of going:

  • 🎶 Expect more live shows, open dance floors, and those infectious rhythms in the air.

  • 🍴 Don’t miss any of the Latin‑flavoured food trucks and vendors.

  • 📸 Be sure to bring sunscreen, stay hydrated, and keep an eye on your belongings.

  • 🗺️ St. Clair between Winona and Christie is closed to traffic—use the 512 streetcar or walk from St. Clair West Station.

Why You Should Come

  • Totally free — no tickets, no entry fee .

  • An unmatched sensory scene — from salsa steps under the sun to chili-spiced churros in hand.

  • A genuine celebration of Latin culture — music, dance, and community — that pulses through the heart of Toronto.

Tonight is your moment. Whether you’re a dance pro or just love a lively street fest, Salsa on St. Clair is the place to be. Come for the music. Stay for the dance. Leave with a beat in your heart. 💃

Hope to see you there today! Make sure you visit us next to the main stage where you will be able to pick up official SALSA and BARRIO merch.
