Selena Gomez is putting a nostalgic twist on a classic treat with the release of her limited-edition Oreo cookies, inspired by the Mexican horchata flavors of her childhood. The exclusive sandwich cookies feature chocolate cinnamon-flavored wafers and two layers of cream — chocolate-cinnamon and sweetened condensed milk — meant to evoke the comforting taste of the beloved drink.
The cookies, which launch online for presale June 2 and in stores nationwide June 9, also feature six custom embossments including Gomez’s signature and a tribute to her fans, the “Selenators.”
In an interview with PEOPLE, the 32-year-old singer-actress shared that she rarely partners with brands, but her lifelong love of Oreo made this project “impossible to turn down.” The collaboration also gave her a creative outlet to connect with fans in a new way, and she took the flavor development process seriously — taste-testing “back and forth” to get the balance just right. “It tastes even better dipped in milk,” she added.
Helping her along the way was her fiancé, music producer Benny Blanco, who also signed off on the final result.
Most meaningful to Gomez is the charitable aspect: Oreo is donating to the Rare Impact Fund, her nonprofit that supports youth mental health resources. “This is the most important part of partnering with Oreo,” she said, hoping the partnership brings the foundation closer to its $100 million fundraising goal.
With flavor, heart, and purpose baked into every bite, Gomez’s Oreo is more than a cookie — it’s a celebration of heritage, connection, and impact.
