A new docuseries titled “Selena & Yolanda: The Secrets Between Them” explores the 1995 murder of Tejano superstar Selena Quintanilla-Pérez by her former manager and obsessed fan, Yolanda Saldívar. The two-part Oxygen True Crime limited docuseries features extensive interviews with Saldívar, who speaks from behind bars in English for the first time in over two decades. Saldívar discusses her friendship and professional relationship with Selena, while her family shares previously undisclosed recordings and documents to shed light on the tragedy. The series also includes perspectives from Corpus Christi Police Department detectives, prosecutors, a hostage negotiator, and journalists covering Selena and Latinx culture. Saldívar is up for parole next year. The series premieres on Feb. 17 with two consecutive episodes and concludes on Feb. 18. Viewers can stream the series on Peacock the day after broadcast.
