Historic Church in Chile catches fire

On Friday, October 11, a significant fire broke out at the historic San Francisco Church in Iquique, Chile. The church, located on Almirante Latorre and 21 de Mayo Streets, became engulfed in flames, with footage showing smoke billowing from the building as firefighters battled the blaze. The San Francisco Church, recognized as a historic monument, is an important cultural and architectural site in Iquique.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the fire, and updates on the extent of the damage are still pending.
