Toronto FC staged a thrilling comeback against Orlando City SC in Major League Soccer, with Tyrese Spicer and Prince Owusu scoring late goals for a 2-1 victory. Orlando had initially taken the lead through Duncan McGuire’s goal in the 37th minute. However, Toronto fought back strongly, with Spicer heading in a cross from Kobe Franklin in the 87th minute, followed by Owusu’s header from Federico Bernardeschi’s cross three minutes later.
Despite both teams creating chances, clinical finishing was lacking. Toronto intensified their attack in the final 20 minutes, eventually breaking through Orlando’s defense. The win ended Toronto’s eight-game winless streak against Orlando dating back to 2019.
Toronto made three changes to their lineup, with Kevin Long, Alonso Coello, and Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty starting. The team was missing several players due to injuries. Both teams had opportunities throughout the match, but neither could capitalize until Toronto’s late surge.
Looking ahead, Toronto will face FC Dallas, while Orlando will play against FC Cincinnati.
