Mexico’s Fatima Bosch was crowned Miss Universe 2025 in a pageant marked by major controversy, walkouts, and viral moments. The 25-year-old humanitarian emerged as a fan favorite after publicly clashing with a Thai pageant director, an incident that sparked solidarity walkouts from fellow contestants and global backlash.
Held in Nonthaburi, Thailand, the competition featured 120 countries, with Thailand’s Praveenar Singh finishing as runner-up. Despite the chaos behind the scenes, Bosch impressed judges with a powerful message about authenticity, empowerment, and self-worth.
The event was overshadowed by accusations of mistreatment, claims of a rigged judging process, and public criticism from former titleholders. Still, Bosch’s victory became a symbol of resilience, turning a scandal-filled pageant into one of the most talked-about Miss Universe finales in recent history.
Next year’s Miss Universe will be held in Puerto Rico.
