Canada’s Latin music scene continues to grow, and here’s another opportunity for Latin artists across the country to get the recognition they deserve.
Submissions are officially open for the Latin Music Recording of the Year category at the 2026 JUNO Awards, giving Canadian Latin artists a chance to have their music recognized on one of the country’s biggest stages.
Whether you’re making reggaetón, salsa, bachata, Latin trap, cumbia, or Latin pop, this category celebrates the sounds and cultures shaping Canada’s Latin music scene.
The category welcomes singles, EPs, and full-length albums, covering both traditional and contemporary Latin music.
To qualify, recordings must meet several requirements:
Genres include reggaetón, dembow, música urbana, regional Mexican, merengue, samba, tango, rock en español, and many more.
Submissions opened September 22, 2026, with the final deadline set for November 5, 2026, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time (November 6 at 2:59 AM Eastern Time).
Submission fees are $80 for Academy Delegates and $100 at the standard rate.
From Toronto to Montreal, Vancouver, and beyond, Latin artists are building audiences, releasing original music, and helping bring Latin culture further into Canada’s mainstream.
Recognition through the JUNO Awards offers another opportunity to showcase that talent on a national level.
For independent artists especially, it’s a chance to put their music forward alongside some of the country’s most established names.
If you’re a Latin artist in Canada with eligible music, this is your opportunity. Don’t miss the deadline.
For full eligibility requirements and submissions, visit junoawards.ca/submissions or email submissions@junoawards.ca.
