Karol G has officially ended one of the most dominant runs in Latin music.
The Colombian superstar’s new album “No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart, knocking Bad Bunny’s “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” from the top spot after an incredible 77 consecutive weeks at No. 1.
Karol G’s album earned approximately 50,000 equivalent album units in the United States during its opening week, with streaming accounting for the vast majority of that total. It also debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200, giving Karol another major crossover success in the U.S.
It marks Karol G’s fifth No. 1 album on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart.
And she isn’t only dominating the album charts.
“BbY WOW,” her collaboration with Spanish artists Judeline and Rusowsky, has also climbed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart. The song additionally reached No. 1 globally on Spotify, giving Karol G another massive international hit.
Bad Bunny’s 77-week run remains an extraordinary achievement, but Karol G being the artist to finally bring it to an end feels fitting.
Two of Latin music’s biggest global superstars continue to dominate — but for now, La Bichota has the No. 1 spot.
