Inter Miami commenced its preseason tour on Friday evening, facing off against the El Salvador national team in the capital city, San Salvador. The game concluded with a 0-0 score, as both teams struggled to generate significant scoring opportunities.

Newly acquired Luis Suarez, along with Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, started the match. Although Messi and Suarez didn’t connect frequently, they collaborated with their Barcelona counterparts to produce the most noteworthy play of the game. This nearly resulted in a spectacular goal for Messi, but Salvadorian goalkeeper Mario Gonzalez made an impressive save, followed by another.

The first half lacked much action from either side, prompting Miami manager Tata Martino to make decisive changes at halftime. Messi, Suarez, Busquets, and Alba were all substituted out.

The second half didn’t provide much excitement either, with both teams ending the match with a total of 16 shots and only five shots on target combined.

The sole significant development from the game was an injury to Miami’s Facundo Farias. The 21-year-old had to be stretchered off after sustaining an apparent knee injury. This poses a challenge for Farias and Inter Miami, who were counting on the talented youngster to play a pivotal role this season. Hopefully, the injury is not too severe.

Miami’s upcoming match is scheduled for Monday, January 22, against FC Dallas at the Cotton Bowl.
