Beyoncé is celebrating the 20th anniversary of “B’Day” with some major Latin surprises.

The superstar has released an expanded 20th-anniversary edition of her iconic 2006 album featuring new collaborations with Selena Quintanilla and Colombian superstar Maluma — plus a tribute to salsa legend Celia Cruz.

The biggest surprise is “Irreemplazable (Como La Flor),” which brings Beyoncé together with the late Selena for a posthumous collaboration combining Beyoncé’s Spanish-language version of “Irreplaceable” with Selena’s classic “Como La Flor.”

Selena’s estate granted permission for her vocals to be used on the track. Beyoncé has spoken about growing up in Houston listening to Selena and the influence the Tejano icon had on her, particularly when it came to singing in Spanish.

The connection now comes full circle more than 30 years after Selena’s death.

Beyoncé Teams Up With Maluma

And Selena isn’t the only Latin superstar involved.

Beyoncé also teamed up with Maluma for “Cuerpo (Tumbao),” a new bilingual reworking of her 2006 hit “Get Me Bodied.”

The song adds another layer of Latin music history by incorporating elements of Celia Cruz’s legendary “La Negra Tiene Tumbao.” The track was produced by Beyoncé alongside hit Colombian-American producer Edgar Barrera and CASTA.

The expanded “B’Day” now includes 31 tracks, combining the original album with rare songs, previously unreleased material and Spanish-language recordings. It also brings back Beyoncé’s collaborations with Shakira on “Beautiful Liar” and Mexican singer Alejandro Fernández on “Amor Gitano.”

Twenty years later, Beyoncé isn’t simply revisiting one of the biggest albums of her career — she’s using the anniversary to celebrate some of the Latin artists and sounds that have influenced her along the way.
