What happens when Afrobeat, Caribbean flavor, and poetic soul collide? You get Beéle — Colombia’s latest breakout star, blending global rhythms with deeply personal stories.
🎧 A Song That Changed Everything
Beéle — born Brandon de Jesús López Orozco — still remembers the first time he heard “Aye” by Nigerian-American artist Davido. He was just 12 years old.
“I felt the vibe and started writing notes and poems,” he recalls. “It was my way of disconnecting from the world.”
While most kids his age were playing soccer or hanging out with friends, Beéle was home with his guitar, writing lyrics and discovering what would become his signature sound: a mix of Afrobeats, Latin pop, and dancehall, all rooted in his Afro-Caribbean heritage.
🌊 From Barranquilla to the World
Growing up in Barranquilla, the Colombian coastal city also known for stars like Shakira and Joe Arroyo, Beéle was surrounded by a rich tapestry of sounds — from salsa and champeta to vintage African beats from the ‘80s and ‘90s.
“I understood that everything that made me proud of where I come from… reflects who I truly am.”
This musical foundation gave him the tools to create a style that’s unique, soulful, and unmistakably his own.
🚀 His Big Break: “Loco” and a Billboard Debut
At just 16, Beéle dropped his first single “Loco” through Hear This Music, showcasing his deep, melodic vocals over a laid-back Afrobeat groove.
Then came the remix — featuring Farruko, Natti Natasha, and Manuel Turizo — and suddenly, Beéle had his first Billboard chart entry, landing at No. 18 on Latin Digital Song Sales in 2020.
Since then, he hasn’t slowed down.
🔥 Collaborations, Hits, and Chart-Toppers
Beéle’s been on a roll, teaming up with some of Latin music’s biggest names:

And more…
His 2023 hit “Vagabundo”, a collab with Sebastián Yatra and Manuel Turizo, became a No. 1 smash on both Latin Airplay and Latin Pop Airplay.
Fast forward to this year, and tracks like “Mi Refe” (with Ovy on the Drums) and “La Plena (W Sound 05)” are lighting up charts — with the latter earning Beéle his first No. 1 on the Billboard Argentina Hot 100.
🎶 Borondo: The Debut Album Everyone’s Talking About
In early May, Beéle dropped his debut studio album, Borondo, under 5020 Records. The 26-track project is a bold, genre-hopping journey that feels like Barranquilla in sound form.
One standout? His collaboration with Marc Anthony on the emotional track “Dios Me Oyó.”
The album made a splash on the charts:
-
No. 10 on Top Latin Albums
-
No. 4 on Top Latin Rhythm Albums
“My heart speaks, my emotions speak, and they connect with the audience. I don’t just make music — I make art.”
🎤 What’s Next for Beéle?
Beéle isn’t trying to fit into anyone’s mold. His mission is simple: be real, be original, and make people feel.
“One day in the studio, I looked in the mirror and said, ‘I love this.’ From then on, my career became about sharing what I feel — honestly, fearlessly, and without comparisons.”
With his distinct sound and heartfelt vision, Beéle is not just Colombia’s next big export — he’s carving a new lane for Afro-Latin artists on the global stage.
🌍 Final Thoughts
In an industry full of trends and copycats, Beéle is a refreshing burst of authenticity. His story is still unfolding, but one thing’s clear: his roots, his rhythm, and his voice are here to stay.
Stay tuned. 🎵
