Bad Bunny Eyes Hollywood Role Alongside Tom Hanks in New Film

A new Hollywood project is quietly building serious momentum—and it might bring together one of film’s most respected actors with one of music’s biggest global stars.

Tom Hanks is set to star in The Comebacker, an upcoming baseball dramedy directed by Marielle Heller. The film marks a reunion between the two, who previously worked together on A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.

The project is based on a short story by Dave Eggers, and studios are already competing to land it, with Sony Picturesreportedly leading the race.

At its core, The Comebacker tells the story of Lionel, a struggling sports journalist who finds renewed purpose through covering an unlikely baseball pitcher. The pitcher, recovering from a life-altering injury caused by a line drive to the head, develops a unique way of speaking—almost poetic—which begins to captivate audiences and revive Lionel’s career.

The film explores themes of reinvention, purpose, and second chances—both on and off the field.

Adding even more intrigue, Bad Bunny is reportedly eyeing a role in the film, alongside Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo. While details around their characters remain under wraps, the potential casting signals a unique blend of star power across film and music.

Production timelines are still uncertain, especially with Bad Bunny currently on a global tour, but the buzz around the project is already growing.

With a strong creative team, compelling source material, and a mix of established and crossover talent, The Comebackeris shaping up to be one of those films that quietly builds into something special.
