BARRIO – Reggaeton artist Bad Bunny made MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) history Sunday night by becoming the first non-English language act to win the Artist of the Year award.

Prior to getting presented with the award by NBA star Carmelo Anthony, the Purto Rico-native performed his hit song “Titi Me Pregunto.”

Bad Bunny, 28, performed at Yankees Stadium and was streamed live to the Prudential Center in New Jersey, where the VMAs took place.

After his performance, in which he kissed a male dancer right after kissing a woman, Bad Bunny gave his acceptance speech in Spanish.

“From the bottom of my heart, I have no words to describe what I feel,” Bad Bunny said. “The pride I feel to be here tonight at Yankees Stadium receiving this award.

“I knew from the beginning I could become one of the world’s biggest artists without having to change my culture, my speech, my language, my lingo. Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio from Purto Rico to the entire world. Thank you!”

Bad Bunny continues to prove he’s the world’s biggest superstar and he’s doing it in Spanish.

Not only did he become the first non-English language artist to accept the Artist of the Year award, but he beat out Drake, Harry Styles, Jack Harlow, Ed Sheeran, Lizzo and Lil Nas X.

El Conejo Malo can’t be stopped. Vamosssss.
