Igor Thiago is having a moment — and it just keeps getting bigger.
Fresh off his first call-up to the Brazil national football team, the Brentford striker delivered again, scoring in a dramatic 2-2 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.
Thiago’s goal — a calm finish into an empty net just before halftime — marked his 19th league goal of the season, setting a new record for most goals by a Brentford player in a single Premier League campaign. Not bad for a player who’s now stepping onto the international stage.
The match itself had everything. Michael Kayode opened the scoring for Brentford with his first league goal, before Adam Armstrong pulled one back for Wolves just before the break. Late drama followed, with Tolu Arokodare equalizing in the 77th minute.
Despite the draw, Brentford remain in the hunt near the top half of the table, while Wolves continue their fight to escape the bottom.
But the real headline? Thiago’s rise. From club dominance to a Brazil call-up under Carlo Ancelotti, he’s quickly becoming one of the most exciting forwards to watch heading into the 2026 international window.
