The Venezuela national baseball team has officially made history, capturing its first-ever World Baseball Classic titlewith a dramatic 3–2 win over the United States in Miami.

Venezuela controlled most of the game early, building a 2–0 lead behind strong pitching from Eduardo Rodríguez and key contributions from Maikel García and Wilyer Abreu. But the U.S. responded late when Bryce Harper crushed a two-run homer in the eighth inning to tie the game.

That set the stage for a clutch moment in the ninth. After a walk and stolen base, Eugenio Suárez delivered the game-winning double, sending Venezuelan fans into a frenzy and sealing the country’s place in baseball history.

Closer Daniel Palencia shut the door with a dominant final inning, completing a three-hit performance by Venezuela’s pitching staff.

The victory marks a major milestone for Venezuelan baseball, becoming just the second Latin American nation to win the WBC, after the Dominican Republic in 2013.

For a team fueled by passion, energy, and national pride, this wasn’t just a win — it was a statement.
