BARRIO (Billboard) – Yandel and Ewing Athletics have teamed up to unveil a limited-edition sneaker called “Ewing x Yandel Rogue” set to drop in early 2024. The historic collaboration marks the first time the brand has partnered with a Latin music star.

“I’m a big fan and collector of sneakers and a big fan of NY Knicks legend and NBA Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing,” the Puerto Rican reggaeton star said in a press statement. “Now, I get to have my own shoe in collaboration with one of the shining stars in the sports world. It feels amazing to kick off the new year with the introduction of the Ewing x Yandel Rogue as the shoe will also be celebrating its 30-year anniversary in 2024.”

“For the first time in our brand’s history, we are collaborating with a Latin artist, so it’s only right that we collaborate with a legend,” added the Jamaican-American basketball coach and former professional athlete.

Both Yandel and Ewing filmed the product campaign in New York.

Prepared in a special Ewing and Yandel branded box, the sneaker—which is designed in a grey and white nubuck and leather upper with scuba blue accents—comes with a Spanish-language booklet with the shoe’s story and tissue paper printed with the Puerto Rican flag.

The Ewing x Yandel Rogue will be available for purchase at 10 a.m. ET on January 5, 2024 via ewingathletics.com and yandel.com.

The news of the sneaker collab comes after Yandel was a two-time nominee at the 2023 Latin Grammys, signed a deal with Warner Music Latin, and also made history at the Empire State Building in New York by becoming the first Latin act to perform at the venue during Hispanic Heritage Month.
