Toronto launches FIFA ticket lottery and you could attend games for as little as $26

Toronto soccer fans may finally have a realistic path into the 2026 FIFA World Cup — without paying resale prices that rival a luxury vacation.

With global demand for World Cup tickets reaching hundreds of millions of requests and secondary-market prices climbing into the thousands, many local supporters feared they would be priced out of the tournament in their own city. For some, even a large beer might feel cheaper than a matchday ticket this summer.

Now, the City of Toronto has introduced a ticket lottery giving Ontario residents aged 18 and over the chance to secure a limited number of seats for matches at BMO Field — temporarily renamed Toronto Stadium for the tournament.

The City has purchased a small batch of tickets and will randomly distribute 26 pairs of invites. Two of those pairs are reserved for Canada’s opening match on June 12. Entry packages range from $26 for five entries to $260 for 100 entries, with proceeds supporting community soccer and youth programming across the city. The draw runs until March 15.

Toronto is set to host six matches between June 12 and July 2, while Vancouver hosts seven. With uncertainty still surrounding some U.S. and Mexican host cities, speculation continues about possible shifts north.

For fans worried about missing out, this lottery may represent the only realistic doorway into a once-in-a-generation soccer moment.

Toronto FC v Inter Miami CF – May 9, 2026

May 9 isn’t just a game — it’s a city moment, and we’re working directly with MLSE to bring the Toronto Latinos community together for Toronto FC vs Inter Miami at BMO Field — a chance to watch Messi and other World Cup-bound stars live, right here in our backyard weeks before the FIFA World Cup.

But we’re not just pulling up for 90 minutes. We’re starting with a pre-party at the stadium hours before the match, and finishing the night with an afterparty steps from the field. No moving your car. No breaking the vibe. Just one full-day experience. If you’re coming, come with us.
