Ticketmaster under fire in Spain over Bad Bunny tour prices

The Organisation of Consumers and Users (OCU) has filed a formal complaint against Ticketmaster, accusing the platform of inflating ticket prices for Bad Bunny’s upcoming Debi Tirar Mas Fotos tour in Spain through hidden and non-refundable fees.

The Puerto Rican artist is scheduled to perform 12 shows in summer 2026, including two at Barcelona’s Estadi Olímpic and 10 at Madrid’s Estadio Metropolitano. While demand has been enormous—over 200,000 fans queued for presale—many were outraged by final ticket costs.

According to the OCU, a base ticket advertised at €79.50 could ultimately cost up to €269.30 due to surcharges such as a €3.30 “donation,” €36.50 in “management fees,” and a €150 “VIP charge.” These costs, often non-refundable, were only revealed late in the checkout process, violating transparency standards.

The OCU is also challenging the use of “dynamic pricing,” where ticket costs shift based on demand without clear explanation. “These prices are not the same for everyone,” the group stated, warning of the system’s potential for abuse.

Spain’s Consumer Affairs Minister Pablo Bustinduy has pledged legislative reform to mandate full upfront pricing, aiming to curb these hidden costs in future events.

Fans are encouraged to retain all documentation and submit complaints if they feel misled. The OCU continues to push for stronger regulation of ticketing practices, including transparency around dynamic pricing.

“Personalisation must not be an excuse to overcharge,” the OCU concluded.
