One of Toronto’s most loved holiday traditions is officially back.
The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Holiday Train is rolling across North America starting November 19, and it’s making its highly anticipated Toronto stop on November 29 — bringing festive vibes, live music, and community spirit straight to the city.
For 27 years, this brightly lit train has traveled across the continent spreading holiday magic while raising millions of dollars and pounds of food for local food banks. It’s more than just a light show — it’s a moving symbol of giving, unity, and seasonal joy.
What to Expect in Toronto
The train will stop at 750 Runnymede Rd. with the live show kicking off around 8:30 p.m.
Once parked, one of the rail cars transforms into a full concert stage for a 30-minute live performance featuring a mix of holiday classics and original music.
This year, Toronto gets performances by Jade Eagleson and Teigen Gayse, adding major local energy to the festive night.
And yes — it’s completely free to attend.
Give Back While You Celebrate
While the concert costs nothing, attendees are encouraged to bring:
-
Non-perishable food items
-
Or cash donations
All support goes directly to local Toronto food banks, with donation drop-off zones set up right at the event.
A Tradition That Gives Back
Over the years, the Holiday Train has raised:
-
$26.1+ million
-
5.4+ million pounds of food
…across Canada and the U.S., making it one of the most impactful moving charity events in North America.
This year’s journey began in Montreal West on Nov. 19, moving through Ontario cities like Milton, Hamilton, London, Belleville, and Trenton before lighting up Toronto — then continuing west until its final stop in Gleichen, Alberta on Dec. 21.
If you’re looking for a festive night out that actually gives back, this is one of the best holiday moments in the city.
