While the Caribbean remains a dream destination for many, recent U.S. travel advisories have cast a shadow over some islands due to rising crime, civil unrest, and limited healthcare access. But in the midst of these concerns, one destination stands out for all the right reasons: Aruba.

According to the 2025 Caribbean Island Safety Index, released by Always All Inclusive (a team of Sandals Resorts experts) on July 14, Aruba has been named the safest island in the Caribbean. The index considered factors such as U.S. travel advisories, local crime statistics, hurricane risk, and healthcare infrastructure—Aruba emerged with an impressive score of 9.3 out of 10.

Dubbed “One Happy Island,” Aruba is known for its welcoming locals, low crime rates, and high tourism standards. Located safely outside the hurricane belt and enjoying over 300 days of sunshine per year, the island also boasts a reliable transportation system and well-developed infrastructure.

Nature lovers can explore Arikok National Park’s volcanic landscapes and natural wonders like the Conchi Natural Pool, while beachgoers flock to the world-renowned shores of Eagle and Palm Beach. Cultural highlights include the island’s famous Aruba Carnival and attractions like The Butterfly Farm.

The index awarded Aruba perfect marks for its Level 1 U.S. Travel Advisory rating and non-existent hurricane risk, alongside high scores for healthcare access and public safety. Rounding out the top three safest islands were Barbados(9.2) and a tie between Grenada and Curaçao (both at 9.0).

As other islands face mounting travel challenges, Aruba offers a rare combination of safety, sunshine, and vibrant culture—making it a top pick for 2025 travelers.
