Three sisters from Monterrey have just made rock history in the United States.
Mexican rock band The Warning has reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with “Kerosene,” becoming the first Mexican band ever to top the ranking.
They’re also the first all-women band to reach No. 1 in the chart’s 45-year history.
The Warning is made up of sisters Daniela, Paulina and Alejandra Villarreal, who began playing music together growing up in Monterrey, Mexico.
“Kerosene” has also climbed to No. 6 on Billboard’s Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, reaching 3.3 million radio audience impressions in the U.S. during the latest tracking week.
The milestone arrives alongside the release of the trio’s fifth studio album, Everything’s Falling.
From Monterrey to No. 1 on American rock radio — another barrier broken for Mexican music.
