Inter Miami head coach Gerardo “Tata” Martino stated that Lionel Messi’s role for the Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinal against CF Monterrey is yet to be defined due to his injury. Martino emphasized the importance of managing Messi’s minutes and prioritizing player well-being. Messi, recovering from a right hamstring injury, joined the team for training but his involvement in the match remains uncertain. Monterrey coach Fernando Ortiz acknowledged Messi’s potential impact but highlighted the strength of the entire Miami team. Despite Miami facing injury challenges, Martino expressed determination to compete well. Luis Suárez, leading Miami’s attack in Messi’s absence, affirmed the team’s capability to perform regardless of Messi’s presence. Miami, having won the Leagues Cup in 2023, aims to continue their success in the Champions Cup.

The CONCACAF Champions Cup between Inter Miami and CF Monterrey will be played tomorrow, 8pm at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
