Messi Hits 900 Career Goals in Historic Night — But Miami Falls Short

Lionel Messi has added yet another milestone to his legendary career, becoming just the second men’s player in history to score 900 official goals, joining Cristiano Ronaldo in one of football’s most exclusive clubs.

The historic moment came during Inter Miami’s Concacaf Champions Cup clash against Nashville SC, where Messi opened the scoring with a classic move — cutting onto his left foot and finishing with precision. However, the night ended in disappointment as Nashville equalized through Cristian Espinoza, eliminating Miami on away goals after a 1–1 draw.

Despite the result, Messi’s achievement reinforces his status as one of the greatest to ever play the game. The Argentine captain reached 900 goals in 1,142 matches, faster than Ronaldo, and continues to deliver at the highest level well into his career.

From Barcelona dominance to PSG success and now rewriting history in MLS, Messi’s journey has been nothing short of iconic. With 115 international goals and counting, plus a record-breaking 91-goal year in 2012, his legacy keeps growing.

Even in defeat, Messi once again proved — history follows him wherever he plays.

Toronto FC v Inter Miami CF – May 9, 2026

May 9 isn’t just a game — it’s a city moment, and we’re working directly with MLSE to bring the Toronto Latinos community together for Toronto FC vs Inter Miami at BMO Field — a chance to watch Messi and other World Cup-bound stars live, right here in our backyard weeks before the FIFA World Cup.

But we’re not just pulling up for 90 minutes. We’re starting with a pre-party at the stadium hours before the match, and finishing the night with an afterparty steps from the field. No moving your car. No breaking the vibe. Just one full-day experience. If you’re coming, come with us.
