Lorena was born and raised in Cuba and came to Canada in 2009. Looking to further her education, she graduated from OCAD and TSA (The Toronto School of Art) to specialize in Visual arts, painting, drawing, and illustration…. AND in 2010, Lorena became a tattoo artist.

Before moving to Toronto, Lorena collaborated and worked at the Main Experimental Graphics Studio in Havana doing printmaking and woodcut artwork and also participated in collective art exhibits, community art events, and art shows with other talented artists in Cuba.

While Lorena was selling her paintings in 2010, she came across an owner of a tattoo studio, and it changed her life. She was immediately offered an apprenticeship.

She worked real hard to be noticed within an industry that is male dominated. When asked if there was ever a time when she wanted to do something different, she said, “Hell no!” Lorena takes a lot of pride in her work. She has worked on darker complexion skin, and has been known to cover stretch marks, surgery scars, scars on cancer survivors, etc.

Lorena has been featured on NOW Magazine, Narcity Toronto, Insider, Bustle, Tattoo.com, and countless others. She definitely is in demand. We asked her if she worked on any celebrities, she said yes, but was unable to reveal who. Lorena has worked with many world renowned tattoo studios and artists in Canada and abroad.

We met at Baro one evening and completely hit it off. She is such a vibe. We wish her nothing but the best.

Lorena’s studio is located in the Distillery District in Toronto. Check out her website for additional info at www.indigoartattoos.com
