Meet DANI: The Latin-Canadian Artist Bringing a New Voice to Country Music

April 7, 2026

A new voice is emerging from the Greater Toronto Area—and it’s one that’s quietly reshaping what country music can look and sound like in Canada.

DANI Saavedra, a Latin-Canadian country singer-songwriter, is carving out a lane of her own, blending raw storytelling with a distinct, velvety vocal style that feels both modern and deeply personal. Born to Latin Canadian immigrants and raised on lived experience, DANI brings something rare to the genre: authenticity rooted in culture, identity, and truth.

She made her debut in October 2023 with Carolina Gold, a track that introduced her signature mix of confessional lyricism and rich, expressive tone. But her journey didn’t start there—and it hasn’t slowed down since.

From performing at festivals like Stomp the Bruce in Canada to intimate shows in the UK, DANI isn’t just performing—she’s creating connection. Her music reads like an open diary, touching on love, growth, and the everyday moments that shape who we are.

Her momentum is already crossing borders. In 2024, she was selected as a finalist at the prestigious Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival Seminar in Nashville, as well as the UK’s Coffee Music Project—marking her as a rising voice with international potential.

But right now, a major moment is unfolding.

A Big Opportunity — And She Needs the Community

DANI is currently competing in two major contests that could put her on some of the biggest stages in Canada this summer.

Sauble Beach Party (Top 20)

She’s made it into the Top 20, competing for a chance to perform alongside Canadian icons like Simple PlanFefe Dobson, and Faber Drive.

Goal: Break into the Top 7
How to vote: Once per day, per email
Deadline: Monday, April 13 at 10:00 PM

Tweed Stampede Opening Act

She’s also a finalist in the Tweed Stampede, a multi-round competition to open for the festival.

Goal: Reach Top 10 → then Top 5
How to vote: One vote per person, per round
Round 1: April 3 – April 10

Why This Matters

DANI represents something bigger than music.

She’s part of a new wave of Latin-Canadian artists stepping into spaces where we’ve traditionally been underrepresented—and doing it on their own terms. Country music has always been about storytelling, and DANI is proving that our stories belong there too.

This is one of those moments where community support can make a real difference.

If she breaks through, it’s not just a win for her—it’s a win for representation, for culture, and for the next generation of artists watching.

Tap In Early

DANI isn’t just stepping into country music—she’s helping reshape it.

And this summer could be the moment everything changes.

Go vote. Support. Share. Let’s push her to those stages
