Manchester United has secured a deal for 17-year-old Paraguayan fullback Diego Leon, who will join the club in July 2025 after turning 18. The deal, confirmed by journalist Fabrizio Romano, is valued at $4 million with an additional $4 million in potential add-ons. Negotiations were led by United’s technical director, Jason Wilcox, and Leon is transferring from Cerro Porteño amid interest from other major clubs.

Leon is a versatile left-back who can also play as a left wing-back. In 21 appearances this season, he scored two goals, showcasing his potential. With ongoing injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, Leon could become a valuable addition to Ruben Amorim’s squad. However, adapting to English football may take time, so fans should temper expectations for an immediate impact.
