Ian Subiabre, the 18-year-old River Plate winger, has become one of the most sought-after young talents in South America, attracting interest from over 13 European clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea.
United’s scouts have been monitoring Subiabre closely, and their Director of Professional Football and Scout, Christopher Vivell, has been particularly impressed. However, Chelsea currently appears to have the upper hand in the race for his signature.
Subiabre, a left-footed player, thrives as an inverted winger cutting in from the right—similar to Amad Diallo’s role at United. This pursuit comes after United previously lost out on another promising left-footed winger, Geovany Quenda, to Chelsea.
With multiple clubs in the mix, it remains to be seen whether United can secure the Argentine prospect or if Chelsea will once again win the battle for a rising South American star.
