Lionel Messi, Inter Miami CF forward, received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Joe Biden at a White House ceremony alongside 18 other honorees, including Magic Johnson and Bono. The award recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to society, the U.S., or global peace.

In 2024, Messi led Inter Miami to their first Supporters’ Shield and an MLS record for single-season points (74). He was named MLS MVP, included in the MLS Best XI, and topped the league with 36 goal contributions (20 goals, 16 assists) despite playing only 19 matches due to injuries and international duties.
