Knies scores OT winner as Leafs beat Bruins

In Game 5 of their playoff series, the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Boston Bruins 2-1, with Matthew Knies scoring the winning goal in overtime at 2:26. The Leafs’ rookie winger capitalized after captain John Tavares made a strong play towards the net. Jake McCabe also scored for Toronto, while goalie Joseph Woll, starting instead of Ilya Samsonov, made 28 saves. The victory keeps the Leafs alive in the series, with Game 6 scheduled for Thursday in Toronto and a potential Game 7 at TD Garden on Saturday.
