Fresh off her Latin Grammy win for Song of the Year, Karol G is already back in album mode — and fans are losing their minds. On Nov. 17, the Colombian superstar surprised the world by announcing a brand-new collaboration with Puerto Rican hitmaker Tainy titled “ÚNICA,” set to drop on Thursday, Nov. 20.
Karol shared the news online with a cinematic teaser that instantly set the internet on fire. In the clip, she reflects on a fleeting romance that left a permanent mark.
“We indulged in a life we should never have had. There was no future, but there was truth,” she says in Spanish.
“In that silence after we made love, I understood that some loves only last one night, but they stay with you forever.”
The visuals show Karol in a flowing white dress, her hair sweeping down to the floor as she walks through a quiet field. Another shot captures her staring out at the sea — all set to a soft acoustic guitar that hints at a more emotional, intimate sound.
Tainy Drops the Artwork — And Fans Go Wild
Tainy also confirmed the collab, sharing the official artwork created by legendary Japanese artist Yoshitaka Amano, known for his ethereal fantasy illustrations. The striking portrait features a woman with fiery hair, piercing green eyes and bold red lips — a dramatic look that already has fans analyzing possible themes.
Fan Expectations Are Sky-High
Social media immediately exploded with reactions.
One post on X read:
“Tainy produced Feid’s best song in the last two years, and now he’s going to do the same with Karol G.”
Another added:
“I hope Tainy makes a Karol G song that isn’t skippable.”
Considering Karol’s massive global run and Tainy’s reputation for genre-shifting production, the bar is high — and fans are ready.
Tainy’s Next Era Is Coming
“ÚNICA” is set to be the second track from Tainy’s upcoming sophomore album. The first, “MONSTRUO” with Feid, showcased a bold experimental direction that shifted Feid’s sound — and even his brand — into new territory.
So the big question is:
Will this new Karol G collab follow the same path and push her sound somewhere unexpected?
We’ll find out on Nov. 20.
