Colombian music icons Juanes and Ryan Castro have teamed up for the first time on a festive new single, “El Chucu Chucu.” The track is a vibrant homage to the holiday traditions of their shared Antioquian roots and aims to celebrate family, music, and heritage.

Known for his yearly holiday singles under his alter ego “Richy,” Castro brings a playful twist to this release by teaming up with Juanes, who portrays Richy’s cousin “Toño” in the visuals. The song draws inspiration from the chucuchucu paisa sound, a traditional Colombian genre.

Juanes expressed gratitude for the collaboration, citing his love for honoring the music of their roots, referencing Pedro Jairo Garcés’s 1967 album “Playa Brisa y Mar” as a classic influence. He praised Castro’s commitment to preserving this Christmas tradition and genre.
