Crunchyroll has announced that reggaeton star J Balvin will join the cast of Solo Leveling Season 2 – Arise From the Shadow as a key character, marking his voice acting debut in both English and Spanish. Balvin expressed excitement over the role, calling it an honor to be part of the anime world, which he’s admired for a long time. The series is based on a Korean webcomic inspired by dungeon-crawling video games, following the protagonist Sung Jinwoo. The move highlights Crunchyroll’s ongoing efforts to bridge anime and music, following collaborations with artists like Megan Thee Stallion and Logic. Balvin’s involvement showcases the strong historical connection between anime and Latin American culture.
