Inter Miami are aiming to strengthen their squad for the upcoming MLS season, and reports suggest the club is preparing an ambitious move for Liverpool star Mohamed Salah. The 32-year-old Egyptian winger, whose contract with Liverpool expires next summer, has reportedly caught Miami’s interest amidst competition from top clubs in Europe and the Saudi Pro League.
Following a strong season, highlighted by their maiden Supporters’ Shield title but falling short in the MLS Cup playoffs, Inter Miami are determined to bolster their lineup. Having already signed global stars like Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez, the club is reportedly ready to offer Salah a lucrative contract to lure him stateside. Miami’s pursuit of Salah signals their intent to capture an MLS Cup trophy and further solidify their status as a premier destination for world-class talent.
Inter Miami will face stiff competition, particularly from Saudi Pro League clubs, which have previously offered substantial contracts for Salah. Al Ittihad, Al Nassr, Al Hilal, and Al Ahli remain highly interested in signing the winger, who has yet to agree to a contract extension with Liverpool. European giants like Barcelona, PSG, Juventus, and Inter Milan are also monitoring Salah’s situation, adding to the challenge Miami faces.
Despite his loyalty to Liverpool, Salah has expressed disappointment over the lack of a contract extension offer. “I’m disappointed… there’s no proposal to extend now,” Salah recently stated. His current form remains exceptional, with 10 goals and 6 assists in 12 Premier League matches this season, cementing his reputation as one of the best forwards in the world.
If Inter Miami succeed in securing Salah, his goal-scoring prowess and playmaking abilities would significantly boost their attack. With Messi and Suárez already on the roster, Salah’s inclusion could form a lethal offensive trio, enhancing Miami’s chances of clinching the MLS Cup. Moreover, his experience as a proven winner, including his role in Liverpool’s 2020 Premier League triumph and his status as the club’s all-time leading scorer, underscores his potential impact in MLS.
In addition to extending Suárez’s contract and appointing Javier Mascherano as head coach, Inter Miami appear to be positioning themselves for another transformative season. If they can outmaneuver competing clubs to sign Salah, it would mark another milestone in the club’s rapid rise and further elevate the profile of MLS on the global stage.
