Aler Baldomero Samayoa, accused of leading the drug trafficking group Los Huistas, was arrested in Mexico for allegedly smuggling US-bound cocaine from South America to Mexican cartels. His capture resulted from joint efforts by Guatemala, the US, and Mexico. He is currently in a Guatemala City jail awaiting extradition to the US.
