El Salvador’s President, Nayib Bukele, inaugurated Google’s new offices in the country, marking a significant partnership aimed at modernizing education, healthcare, and government services. The agreement, signed in August 2023, focuses on digital advancement in various sectors. Bukele emphasized Google’s role in education, noting that every child in the country has access to Google Classroom. He highlighted plans for further collaborations to enhance public health and streamline administrative procedures. Bukele announced upcoming initiatives, including a telemedicine system and the establishment of a Google data center in El Salvador. Eduardo López, President of Google Cloud for Latin America, affirmed the company’s long-term commitment to the country, aiming to foster economic development and opportunities for the Salvadoran population through cloud technologies.
