Futsal Player Camps Outside Messi’s House and Was Eventually Let In to Meet The Champ

BARRIO – A Lionel Messi fan, Juan Polcan, has penned an emotional letter to the forward after meeting him in France. He thanked the Argentine’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, for helping him meet his idol and not asking the security personnel to turn him away.

Juan Polcan, a lifelong fan of the Argentine legend, embarked on the crazy dream of meeting the PSG striker at home. This futsal player with Italian team IBS Le Crete even got a few days off to visit the French capital last week.

Polcan camped outside Messi’s house in France to try and meet the forward on his way out to PSG training. However, the security personnel threatened to call the police and refused to let the fan get close to the FIFA World Cup winner.

At first he was alone and around noon another boy joined him to bring him an incredible painting. When he came back around 1 p.m., I couldn’t even get close, but I’m sure he saw me. I waited until 3:30 p.m. Antonela (Roccuzzo, his wife) came out of the house. , rolled down the car window, spoke to us with the best intentions and told us that she was going to pick up her children. Three hours later he appeared but he did not give me the opportunity (to meet).”

The futsal player says he has begun to resign himself. “The security guard started to tell me that he was going to call the police but I couldn’t give up” he explains. His self-sacrifice ended up paying off as Antonela “appeared out of nowhere” to invite him and his friend to enter after ten hours of waiting. “The first thing I see is Messi standing in front of me in shorts, slippers and he says ‘hello’ to us, he continues. It was an incredible moment. I told him how much I loved him, we took the photos, he signed the jersey of the futsal club where I play, he gave me a hug and he signed an autograph on my arm. That’s when I realized how nervous I was , my arm was shaking like never before and Lionel calmed me down so that the signing went as smoothly as possible.”

“IBS Le Crête, my futsal club, gave me days off to try to see Messi on the condition that, if I succeeded, I had to sign a shirt,” he said. “My goal is not to go viral or anything like that, he concludes. I want people to discover who he is, his simplicity, his humility.”
