Spanish police announced the arrest of a suspected drug trafficker and former associate of the late Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar at his lavish residence in Medellin. This arrest followed an international operation, with the detained individual believed to be the link between Medellin-based traffickers and European criminal groups such as the Ndrangheta in Italy and the Mocro Mafia in the Netherlands.
