FIFA and Global Citizen are partnering to introduce a Super Bowl-style halftime show during the FIFA World Cup final, beginning in 2026. The announcement was made at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park by FIFA president Gianni Infantino, Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans, and actor Hugh Jackman. The first halftime show will take place on July 19, 2026, during the World Cup final at New York New Jersey Stadium.

This partnership extends over four years and aims not only to entertain but also to help end extreme poverty and improve access to sports and education for children globally. Global Citizen, an advocacy organization focused on poverty eradication, will produce the halftime show. The collaboration also includes Global Citizen’s involvement in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, which will be held across U.S. cities.

The partnership’s goal is to engage football fans worldwide in activism, with FIFA’s vast reach—including 5 billion people engaging with the last World Cup final—providing a platform for promoting positive global change. Fans will be encouraged to participate in campaigns addressing poverty and education, with incentives such as tickets to FIFA matches. More details about the initiative will be announced soon.
