Estée Lauder Brings Skin Longevity Institute to Costa Rica’s Blue Zone

Luxury skincare meets holistic wellness in Costa Rica, where Estée Lauder has opened its first Skin Longevity Institute in the Americas. Nestled at Hacienda AltaGracia, an Auberge Resorts Collection property, the institute launched in May inside the resort’s Casa de Agua spa.

The location is no coincidence — the Nicoya Peninsula is one of the world’s famous Blue Zones, where people are known to live longer, healthier lives. Estée Lauder is tapping into that reputation, blending its 15+ years of research on skin aging with Costa Rica’s natural environment and lifestyle principles.

Guests can expect more than just facials. Treatments use Estée Lauder’s Re-Nutriv line, focusing on reversing visible signs of aging, while personalized plans mix skincare routines with forest bathing, nutrition talks, and wellness practices rooted in local traditions. The result: a luxury spa experience designed to nurture skin and lifestyle together.

The price tag reflects the exclusivity. Rooms at Hacienda AltaGracia start around $800 per night, with institute access included for guests. Treatments range from $200 facials to immersive day packages over $1,000. Since opening, spots have been booking quickly, as beauty and wellness enthusiasts flock to experience the brand’s science-meets-nature approach.

Fabrizio Freda, Estée Lauder’s president and CEO, called the launch a milestone: “It brings our skin longevity philosophy to life in a place celebrated for longevity itself.” Local officials agree, highlighting how the project supports tourism, jobs, and Costa Rica’s growing reputation as a wellness hub.

For now, Hacienda AltaGracia is the only place to find an Estée Lauder Skin Longevity Institute. But with the booming demand for anti-aging and wellness retreats, this could be the start of a global rollout. Until then, visitors to Costa Rica can expect a one-of-a-kind mix of pampering and renewal — proof that the secret to youthful skin may lie where science and Blue Zone living meet.
