If you’re planning to be out and about this Easter long weekend, here’s everything you need to know about what’s open and closed across Toronto.

Shopping Centres

Most major malls will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, including:

  • Yorkdale Shopping Centre
  • Square One Shopping Centre
  • Vaughan Mills
  • Scarborough Town Centre
  • CF Sherway Gardens
  • CF Fairview Mall
  • Bramalea City Centre
  • Erin Mills Town Centre
  • Shops at Don Mills

However, CF Toronto Eaton Centre and Pacific Mall will operate on reduced hours during those days.

Most malls return to normal hours on Monday, April 6.

Tourist Attractions (Open All Weekend)

Good news—most of the city’s top attractions are open, including:

  • CN Tower
  • Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada
  • Royal Ontario Museum
  • Art Gallery of Ontario
  • Toronto Zoo
  • Casa Loma
  • Hockey Hall of Fame
  • Little Canada

Perfect weekend to explore the city.

Grocery Stores

Most grocery stores will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, but there are some exceptions:

  • The Loblaws Carlton Street will be open
  • Rabba Fine Foods locations stay open
  • Most T&T Supermarket locations will also be open
  • Select Farm Boy stores will have modified hours

LCBO & Beer Store

  • LCBO and The Beer Store will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday
  • Some Wine Rack locations may remain open

Transit

  • GO Transit runs on a Saturday schedule on Good Friday
  • Toronto Transit Commission runs on a holiday schedule on Good Friday
  • Regular service resumes for the rest of the weekend and Monday

Government Offices & Libraries

  • Toronto Public Library branches are closed Friday, Sunday, and Monday
  • Most banks are closed Good Friday and Easter Monday
  • Government services like Service Canada and ServiceOntario are closed all weekend
  • Toronto City Hall and civic centres are closed Friday and Monday

Bottom Line

While shopping and services take a pause, Toronto still has plenty going on this Easter long weekend—especially when it comes to attractions and experiences. Plan ahead, check hours, and enjoy the city.
