In Mexico’s Sinaloa state, ongoing clashes between rival factions of the Sinaloa Cartel have resulted in at least 10 more deaths, bringing the toll of those killed or missing to over 100. The violence intensified following the July arrest of cartel co-founder Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, which triggered an internal power struggle. Since September 9, around 70 people have been killed, mostly in Culiacán, with 51 others missing. Recent incidents included shootouts with police and armed men, leading to deaths and injuries. Mexican authorities have deployed 600 soldiers for reinforcement, while tensions remain high. President Lopez Obrador partially blamed the U.S. for Zambada’s capture, a claim U.S. officials denied.
