BARRIO – Christoper Siguencia, better known as Mechon has been DJ’ing professionally for 10 years. He’s made quite the name for himself in the nightlife scene in Toronto, and is certainly one of the most sought after DJ’s in the City. It is very common to see the venues where he’s Dj’ing to have a monster line wrapping around the building. Trust us, we’ve seen it.

His passion started at a real young age when he would watch his Uncle Jorge play music as Sonido Latino. Mechon was hooked. His first paid gig was at Latin Fever with Jimmy Suave. Mechon says that there were only six people in attendance, and they were all his mom’s friends LOL

Today he forms part of ‘Your Favourite Duo’ with Itz Nico P, who himself has elevated Latin Nightlife in many ways. Botella, Botella, Botella… If you’ve been to one of their parties, then you know what we’re talking about. The union happened when Mechon hired Nico for a party many years ago. The chemistry was instant. ‘Your Favourite Duo’ was born.

Mechon mentions that although he’s had many milestones in his career, the ones that standout most are; opening up for Nicky Jam at the ACC for his concert in Toronto, Live to Air with Nico P during their residency at Moda, and co-hosting an event with Toronto legend Starting from Scratch. Quite the resume.

During the pandemic Mechon says that he almost quit DJ’ing altogether. It wasn’t until he joined the Twitch platform where he got got his groove back. He quickly became a Verified Twitch Partner with over 5k followers worldwide. You can say he’s a full-time streamer. If you have caught any of his shows on Twitch you know they’re high energy, the chat is insane, followers dropping BITS all over the place. It’s fascinating to watch. It was on Twitch where Mechon began networking globally. Here is where he met DJ Eddie Boy, a radio personality on Pitbull Globalization on Sirius XM. Eddie Boy saw what Mechon can do and asked him to drop a set on Pitbull Globalization. He obviously killed it..… AND NOW, Mechon is opening up for Pitbull at his ‘Can’t Stop Us Now Tour’ in Montreal at the Bell Centre… WTF
