April 3, 2025

Disneynature’s Sea Lions of the Galápagos follows Leo, a young sea lion, as he navigates the challenges of growing up in the Galápagos Islands. From his early days learning to swim and fish under his mother’s guidance to eventually striking out on his own, Leo must compete for survival in a world filled with both wonder and danger.

As he encounters marine iguanas, racer snakes, yellowfin tuna, and massive Galápagos sharks, Leo’s journey reflects the struggles male sea lions face to secure prime territory and become dominant “beachmasters.”

Directed by Hugh Wilson and co-directed by Keith Scholey, this breathtaking documentary, produced by Disneynature, will stream on Disney+ starting April 22, 2025, in celebration of Earth Day.
