Deyna Castellanos has joined the NWSL’s expansion team Bay FC after her stint with Manchester City. Her contract extends through 2026 with an option for 2027, reportedly earning her $1.8 million over four years, making her the highest-paid foreign player in the league.
Bay FC’s General Manager, Lucy Rushton, expressed excitement about Castellanos’ arrival, praising her talent and predicting an immediate impact. Castellanos, known for her attacking flair, previously played for Florida State in college, winning an NCAA championship, and then professionally for Atlético Madrid before moving to Manchester City.
With eight appearances this season, including a goal in the Leagues Cup, Castellanos is now part of Bay FC’s inaugural season, describing the project as “amazing” and expressing pride in being part of the team’s foundation.
