After more than 20 years of marriage, Puerto Rican reggaeton star Daddy Yankee and his wife Mireddys González have confirmed their divorce. The announcement, made on Instagram, revealed that the separation was initiated by Mireddys after months of attempts to salvage their relationship.

The couple, who share two children—Jeremy Ayala González and Jesaaelys Ayala González—had reportedly been living apart, with Daddy Yankee staying in a vacation home in Luquillo while Mireddys remained in their primary residence in Carolina.

Daddy Yankee, known for hits like “La Gasolina”, reflected on the situation with gratitude for their shared years and emphasized his faith in Christ as a source of strength. He expressed respect for Mireddys’ decision, a commitment to their family’s well-being, and a desire to maintain privacy during this time.

The divorce comes amid significant changes in Daddy Yankee’s life, including stepping away from urban music to embrace Christianity, marking a new chapter both personally and professionally. Despite their separation, the focus remains on their children and preserving the family’s stability.
