Contestant withdraws from Miss World Dominican pageant over nationality controversy

Cassandre Jacques, who was competing for San Juan de la Maguana in the Miss World Dominican pageant, has withdrawn due to controversy about her nationality. In an emotional statement, she said the decision was tough but necessary after much thought. Jacques called it one of the most significant experiences of her life and thanked her supporters, expressing hope for future opportunities and continued support.

Her withdrawal has sparked discussions on social media about her Haitian heritage and identity in pageants. The Miss World Dominican organization has not commented yet.
