Jake Paul is reportedly finalizing a deal to fight boxing superstar Canelo Álvarez in a cruiserweight match at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on May 3. This shift means Álvarez will likely forgo a previously expected bout with Terence Crawford. Paul, who last defeated 58-year-old Mike Tyson in November, has long sought a fight with Álvarez, who once dismissed the idea but acknowledged its fan appeal. Álvarez, a unified super middleweight champion, last fought in September, beating Edgar Berlanga by unanimous decision.
