Canadian soccer fans won’t have to wait long to see the men’s national team back in action.

Canada Soccer has announced that the Canadian men’s national team will host Chile at Toronto’s BMO Field on Sept. 26, before travelling to Montreal to face Peru at Stade Saputo on Oct. 3 as part of the September-October FIFA international window.

The matches will be Canada’s first since its historic performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Jesse Marsch’s squad captured the attention of the country with its best-ever showing on the world stage.

Canada made history by earning its first-ever World Cup point in a 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina before defeating Qatar 6-0 behind a Jonathan David hat trick for the country’s first World Cup victory. The Canadians advanced to the knockout stage for the first time and reached the Round of 16 before falling to Morocco.

The team finished 14th overall, ahead of traditional soccer powers including Germany, the Netherlands and Croatia.

“The momentum we’ve created for this sport in the country over the past few months has been incredible,” head coach Jesse Marsch said. “We couldn’t have done it without our fans, and these matches are a chance to say thank you and continue to build on what we achieved at the World Cup.”

The matchup against Chile should generate plenty of excitement in Toronto, home to one of Canada’s largest Chilean communities. It will also provide another opportunity for fans to celebrate a Canadian team that helped ignite soccer fever across the country during the World Cup.

Following the friendlies, Canada will shift its focus to the CONCACAF Nations League quarter-finals in November as preparations continue for the 2027 tournament cycle.
