BARRIO – You wouldn’t think that this was Canada’s first World Cup match since 1986. They came out with all the confidence in the world. Like they been doing this.

Early in the game, Buchanan hit the ball in the 18 and was awarded a penalty shot as it was ruled a handball after a VAR review. Unfortunately, the Belgium goalie saved the Alphonso Davies pk. FML

Both teams were going for it in the first half. Multiple chances on both sides, but honestly speaking, Canada all over Belgium. We keeping their goalkeeper busy FR FR. In the 35th minute, Canada leading in shot attempts 12 to 3 … LFG

If you watched the game, you would 100% agree that Canada playing like a top 10 ranked team, but a few minutes before the end of the first Canada concedes a goal. Heartbreaking. Just before the halftime whistle we legit had two more quality chances. Incredible. Soccer Gods on Belgium side for sure LOL

Canada go into halftime 14 shots to 4 over Belgium, but down 1 nil.

In the 2nd half, we come out blazing again, but we have trouble finishing.

Canada uses all five changes. Osorio is finally in with 10 minutes left. We hope that Canada is rewarded with at least one point for having such a great game, but Belgium continues to press. Experience really showing now.

Congrats to Belgium. We played a great game, but came up short. Let’s hope for a better result on Sunday vs Croatia.

Vamos Canada
